It’s funny how life comes full circle and sometimes you don’t even realize it.
When I was a kid my mom and dad worked separate shifts in cotton mills. One worked in the morning from 7am-3pm and the other worked at night from 3pm-11pm. To add to the complexity of this, one mill was in our hometown and the other was about 30 minutes away in a neighboring city.
My parents coordinated with the security guards at my dad’s mill to allow for me to stay there for 30-45 minutes. This would allow my mom to drop me off and then drive to her shift. Dad would grab me on his way out of the mill and we would go home together.
Those guards used to treat us very well. We were all very common and lived within our means. We would bring each other produce and baked goods to share with each other’s families. I learned so much about life from those guys about just being a good person and treating people like you would want to be treated. I will never forget Charlie Fulbright and Will Crouse.
Today as the Franchise Owner of Signal 88 Security of El Paso, Texas, I hope that we can be that salt of the earth. We strive very hard to treat people as we would want to be treated.
